Enemies in Etrian Odyssey 3 use elemental attacks more frequently, making the Hoplite's Fire Wall, Ice Wall, and Volt Wall skills vital. Hoplites can also use their Provoke skill to draw enemy attacks away from your weaker party members. The Sovereign is great for further increasing your party's capabilities through buffs.. Protect Order is one of my FAVORITE Sovereign skills. I have a Level 20 Protect order on my Classic Mode Sovereign, and it's a HUGE help. Guard and Attack Order are also super great to have, same with Prevent Order. Link Order I and II are great ways to put Arianna to use in her 'dead' turns, just make sure Fafnir is throwing an elemental attack.

. EO2 is a game with exponential scaling on skills. Things start out weak, slow, and inaccurate, and get better and better at an accelerative rate with each level. Don't spread SP thin in this game, because most skills are garbage until like level 7 or 8 at the least. Landsknecht is pretty bad.
